We are excited to announce the inaugural Devconnect Scholars Program!
The Devconnect Scholars Program will provide financial support to talented individuals who are geographically and demographically underrepresented in the Ethereum community, enabling them to attend Devconnect in Istanbul this November.

Why The Program Exists & Program Details
To ensure Ethereum remains a resilient and inclusive protocol for human coordination, we recognize the importance of diverse perspectives from various geographies and demographics.
Scholars will contribute their unique viewpoints and experiences to discussions at Devconnect, shaping the future of Ethereum. They will also apply what they learn to their communities, pushing the boundaries of Ethereum.
Program Details
Devconnect Scholars will receive financial assistance for transportation, accommodation, per diem, and visa application. They will also have the opportunity to participate in online and in-person meetings to connect with fellow scholars, learn, and prepare for an exceptional experience in Istanbul.
Selection Criteria
- We are seeking individuals with expertise in protocol development, web3 development, privacy, security, cryptoeconomics, UX, and governance.
- Applicants must come from underrepresented communities in Ethereum, which fall into two main categories:
- Geographic: Applicants from countries lacking representation in Ethereum, including Turkey and neighboring countries.
- Demographic: Applicants representing a minority gender, ethnicity, or other demographic identity currently underrepresented in Ethereum.
- Individuals who require financial support to attend Devconnect are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be available to attend Devconnect from November 13-19, 2023.
- Applicants must be able to communicate in English.
- The program requires a time commitment of approximately two hours per week from September to November 2023.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have not yet attended a large Ethereum conference (500+ people).
